So the first \u201cdo\u201d is to do your research. <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help you prepare, we have the following \u201cdo\u2019s\u201d when preparing for boarding your cat.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Make an appointment to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truecareveterinaryhospital.com\/about-us\/hospital-tour.html\">tour the facility<\/a>, and ask lots of questions<\/li><li>When possible, choose a boarding facility that is connected with or located in a veterinary hospital. Having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truecareveterinaryhospital.com\/staff\/\">trained veterinary staff<\/a> on hand is invaluable in the unlikely event your pet experiences an injury, illness or other veterinary need while you\u2019re away.<\/li><li>Look for cleanliness, safety, a professional and knowledgeable staff, friendliness, and comfort.<\/li><li>Ask for references and follow up on them<\/li><li>Make your reservation ASAP<\/li><li>Schedule a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truecareveterinaryhospital.com\/blog\/cat-wellness\/\">pet wellness exam<\/a> to make sure your cat has all their vaccinations and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truecareveterinaryhospital.com\/blog\/heartworm-in-cats\/\">parasite control<\/a> in place well before boarding<\/li><li>Look into having add on services for your cat while you\u2019re away, such as grooming, extra brushing <g class=\"gr_ gr_17 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"17\" data-gr-id=\"17\">and<\/g> TLC, or a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truecareveterinaryhospital.com\/blog\/pet-dental-care-more-than-fresh-breath-and-a-pretty-smile\/\">dental cleaning<\/a>.<\/li><li>Ask us about kitty pheromones that can make traveling to the boarding facility as well as a boarding stay more comfortable for your cat<\/li><li>Ask us about leaving a <g class=\"gr_ gr_15 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace\" id=\"15\" data-gr-id=\"15\">tshirt<\/g> or other small item with your smell on it to comfort your cat with familiar smells.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some Don\u2019ts for Boarding Success<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>When dropping off, don\u2019t forget to pack your cat\u2019s food. Cats are sensitive to any change, and will be happiest with their normal diet<\/li><li>Don\u2019t forget to include any medications and instructions for administering them. Please don\u2019t mix medications into food or take them out of their original bottles; original packaging, please!<\/li><li>A little snuggle time at drop off is definitely in order, but don\u2019t draw out your goodbye too long. This can confuse your kitty and make leaving harder for you. <\/li><li>Don\u2019t hesitate to check in!
