With all measures in place, you can sit back, relax, and have a slice of pie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Staying Close<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Pets are at risk of accidental separation throughout the year, but it\u2019s keenly felt around the holidays. Starting with Thanksgiving, we encourage all owners to check (and re-check) their pet\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truecareveterinaryhospital.com\/blog\/microchipping\/\">collars and tags<\/a>. Sure, they may be content to mingle and observe your guests. But if they\u2019re not, you\u2019ve already got your bases covered.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep an eye out for any signs of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truecareveterinaryhospital.com\/blog\/battling-back-to-school-pet-separation-anxiety\/\">stress or anxiety<\/a> and act quickly to comfort your pet. Pack treats, fresh water, food, bedding, toys, and the proper restraining equipment.<\/li><li>Be sure to bring your pet\u2019s crate if you need to safely contain them during your host\u2019s Thanksgiving dinner.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.truecareveterinaryhospital.com\/blog\/what-to-expect-and-the-dos-and-donts-of-boarding-your-cat\/\">Consider boarding your pet<\/a> while you\u2019re away.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thanksgiving Pet Safety<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s no small feat to eliminate your pet\u2019s chances of finding a tasty tidbit or two. To reduce the risk of over-indulging or choking, take the trash outside and be sure the lid is secured.
